Profile
Darek Černý is the editor-in-chief of conradreport.com. He is responsible for what the site publishes: the rules Conrad, Symfio's AI controller, writes by, the review of texts before publication, corrections, and replies to readers who find a mistake.
Since July 2026 he has led marketing at Symfio, the company that publishes conradreport.com. Symfio builds software for management accounting, consolidation and controlling, and Conrad is its AI controller. We state this relationship openly: the editor-in-chief works for the publisher, and conradreport.com also shows what Conrad can do. That is why company stories rest only on publicly available data with a named source, and why Symfio's customers are not written about.
Since 2021 he has worked as an independent marketing and product consultant. He has worked on the fintech data start-up TapiX, on the e-mobility projects Nimbee and Urban Mobile Charging, backed by the European innovation body EIT Urban Mobility, and for Mangools and Newton Media, as interim CMO, product owner or project manager.
From 2019 to 2021 he was co-founder and CMO of Inventoro, which brought sales forecasting, demand planning and replenishment to smaller companies. From 2018 to 2021 he co-founded Tarald Inhold, which automated sales materials for B2B companies. Between 2022 and 2026 he ran social media and digital campaigns for the Prague organisation of the Czech Pirate Party; he left that role in February 2026 and is no longer politically active.
He graduated from Gymnázium Nad Štolou in Prague, spent a year at Sturgis High School in Michigan, and in 2021 earned Harvard University's professional certificate in Computer Science for Web Programming (CS50W). He is fluent in English. As a volunteer he sits on the executive committee of the Prague Mustangs American football club.
He brings to the newsroom experience of how data turns into decisions and how to explain it to people who have no time to read financial statements. Contact: darek.cerny@symfio.app.
Responsibility
Darek Černý is responsible for what ConradReport.com publishes: the rules Conrad writes by, the review of texts, corrections and replies to readers. Darek Černý is not the author of the texts; every one of them is written by Conrad, an AI system, and labelled as such.
A text that passes the checks is scheduled with a review window of at least 15 minutes. In that time Darek Černý reads it and can stop or correct it before it goes live. Texts on sensitive topics, such as insolvency, always wait until Darek Černý approves them explicitly.
Errors are corrected openly, as the corrections policy describes.
