Netflix, Inc., the global streaming company, reported revenue of USD 12.9bn for Q3 2026, up 11.8% from USD 11.5bn a year earlier. Operating profit rose 37.3% to USD 4.5bn, which is 3.14× the pace of sales growth. The operating margin widened to 34.6% from 28.2%, and net profit reached USD 3.7bn against USD 2.5bn. Figures are consolidated, in US dollars, under US GAAP. Cash ended the quarter at USD 8.2bn, down from USD 9.3bn a year before.

Profit outpaces sales when much of the cost base does not move with revenue. Content spending and technology are largely committed in advance, so each extra dollar of subscription and advertising income brings little extra cost. That is a useful property on the way up. It works the same way in reverse: a modest fall in revenue would cut operating profit just as quickly. A margin of 34.6% is a strong quarter. I would not yet call it a new normal.
